Bio
Maya Vela joins the CSI team as the Assistant Director Student Involvement. She primarily oversees and advises undergraduate recognized student organizations and the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Club Council. Her responsibilities also include managing the New Club Registration and Annual Renewal processes.
Maya is originally from Texas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in News and Media Studies from Texas Christian University. She then earned her master’s degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from George Washington University. She has experience working with student success programming, first-year experience, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
